A good cuppa of coffee is always a good start to my day. Most of the time I can pretty much brew myself a good pot and at other times, I just want to sit down and have someone else do it for me and I just relax. Bangkok has a good coffee culture but on the other times that I take a road trip to the outskirts of the city, I usually end up in Hua Hin because of its proximity to the city and my familiarity with the place, also because one of my relatives has a summer villa at one of the developments and also I found out that it also has a good coffee culture going on. This is what I will be talking about today.
It was one of those random visits to this pretty and relaxing seaside resort town that I decided I will just check out the coffee establishments around and make my recommendations. I figured some coffee enthusiast like myself might appreciate it. Now I will not rate it as something that is good for me might just be average for the other guy so I will just share my thoughts about the place and how it felt for me. So guys, this is just my humble opinion and no one else’s.
Now here are some of them that I found scattered all throughout Hua Hin:
Sea Harmony Eco Cafe
This quaint cafe attached to a B&B is cozy, inviting, and a gem of a place to get a good cup of coffee and some really great eats as well. They grow their own vegetables in the garden and they serve local food as well as international ones too. The coffee beans specially come from Chang Rai which is the best area to grow coffee and they are roasted in Hua Hin to the cafe’s liking. What I love about this place is their breakfast selections and I usually pair that with a good cup of freshly brewed coffee and my day is good to start!

Velo cafe X Rock’ n Roast
These guys have evolved. From just being Velo cafe in the past few years, they’ve finally just teamed up with their other establishment to provide their patrons a complete coffee experience. Some in Hua Hin would say they are the top coffee place in the area and I would agree to this. These guys roast their own coffee beans to ensure a fresh and great cup of brew and they’ve made some changes to their cafe design and it’s now like a co-working space great for those digital nomads. This cafe is a family venture showing their love for the brew and for food and the cafe truly reflects that. Velo is really at the top of my list for a great cup of coffee.

Osot Place
It’s open and chill vibe is very inviting and for the serious caffeine drinkers, this place might just be on the equal with Velo when it comes to a cup of coffee. They are also very serious with coffee. Their coffee is reasonably priced as well and if it’s not busy you might be lucky to have a chat with one of the owners and they will explain how they source their beans and the process that they do to come up with their own brew. It’s very chill and just relaxed and the coffee is really good. Although the cafe doesn’t have any airconditioning, the open atmosphere and design makes for good ventilation that it’s just okay. Osot gives Velo a run for their money if they haven’t done so already.

Ronin Capsule Coffee
For the artsy fartsy, Ronin is a place to stop by and chill for a bit to have a good cup of coffee and admire the art on its walls. They’re cafe is a personality on it’s own and that’s what I love about this place aside from the fact that their wifi is also amazing!!! These guys are also serious about their coffee. They do it old school without the usual coffee machines and I found that so interesting I have been here thrice in a week because I really liked the coffee and the atmosphere. They have moka machines, drip coffee flasks, milk foamers, and all sorts of coffee contraptions. This cafe is pretty much popular for their cold coffees. Iced coffees and lattes are the specialty if I should say so. They’ll present you with 4 or 5 beans to choose from when you order their coffee and that’s really nice and something different from all the other coffee shops.

For now that concludes my roundup. I have yet to try the little cafes around town but I will get to it one way or another and give another update to this blog. Hope you enjoyed my coffee roundup in Hua Hin and hope you get to find all these places and try out their brews! Cheers!
